  • Strength training or resistance training involves the performance of physical exercises which are designed to improve both strength and endurance. It is often associated with the use of weights while incorporating a variety of training techniques such as calisthenics, isometrics, and plyometrics.

    When properly performed, strength training can provide significant functional benefits and improvements to overall health and well-being.  These perks include increased bone, muscle, tendon and ligament strength along with improved joint function.   In addition, there is reduced potential for injury with incremental gains to physical fitness and improved cardiac function.
